There is a payment drop box at our office at 857 Elmore Street, Morrisville, for after-hours payments.  PLEASE NOTE that any payment placed in this box after 7:30 AM will not be processed until the next business day.  For your added convenience a payment drop box is located in the entrance air lock at the Union Bank on Main Street. These payments will be picked up daily by our staff.

New Water/Sewer Rates:

Morrisville Water & Light (MW&L) will implement new water and sewer rates effective June 1, 2010.  These rates will be billed based on recorded water usage starting June 1st and beyond.  The new sewer rates are designed to met the 2010 budget, which required an overall revenue increase of 20% to cover projected financing, depreciation and operation costs primarily associated with the new Wastewater Treatment Facility.

Starting in 2008, MW&L began installing water meter(s) in each structure connected to the Village water system.  This was a requirement for the Grant and low cost funding provided by the Rural Development Agency (RDA) for the new Wastewater Treatment facility.  MW&L, with assistance from a consulting firm, has developed new water and sewer rates based on data collected from the meters.  The rate design includes a customer charge, a per gallon rate for usage less than 10,000 gallons and a separate per gallon rate for usage greater than 10,000 gallons.  The customer charge is different for each meter size.

There are several other significant policy changes being implemented at the same time.  First, effective with this date, the owner of the building is required to have the water and sewer accounts in their name and is responsible for all charges.  Tenants will no longer received water or sewer bills from MW&L.  Tenants who were receiving a water and sewer bill may want to contact their landlord to find out how this change will affect them.  Second, the existing rate differential between Village and Town accounts will be eliminated and all accounts, regardless of location, will be billed on the same rate.  Third, there is no difference between rates for residential or commercial accounts.
