Electric Vehicle Charging Time of Use Rate Pilot Program

Morrisville Water & Light is participating in a pilot program called SmartHours, to encourage electric vehicles to charge at times when the electric grid is less costly for all customers.  If successful, participants, and all customers, would save money.  Then, the pilot could be expanded to all with interest in vehicle charging and eventually to other types of electricity use.

If you are interested, please go to the following link hosted by the Vermont Public Power Supply Authority, VPPSA: https://vppsa.com/resources/rebate-forms/smarthours/

VPPSA is the trade association for Vermont’s municipal electric utilities.  This pilot program is being rolled out to all municipal utilities currently through VPPSA.

Once those with interest have signed up, VPPSA and MWL will select 2-3 first participants.  Others who sign up will be put on a waiting list for potential subsequent phases of the pilot and/or for full roll out of the long-term program.

If you have an EV (or hybrid), you can charge at night, and want to save some money, SmartHours may be for you!
