Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)
Dear Customer,
Morrisville Water & Light is upgrading electric meters as part of a planned, systemwide project to modernize electric service. As part of this upgrade, MWL will be installing a smart meter at your home.
What to expect:
Installation timing: Your new meter is expected to be installed between June through December of 2026.
Quick and easy: Most installations take only a few minutes.
No need to be home: In most cases, you do not need to be present.
Brief service interruption: Power will be off for a short time while the meter is exchanged.
Authorized staff: All installations are completed by identifiable utility personnel or approved contractors who follow strict safety protocols.
Smart meters help improve electric service for you and our community. These new meters help us identify and respond to outages more quickly, provide more accurate billing through automated meter readings, and reduce the need for in-person meter readings.
